How to Prepare for Your Session & What to Expect
At Mystic Mama Healing, I believe healing is a return to balance. As bodyworkers often say, “the issues are in the tissues.” Our bodies carry the imprint of our lives, and through therapeutic touch, energy healing, and intentional rest, we create space for the body, mind, and spirit to soften, unwind, and support their innate capacity for healing.
Before Your Session
Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment and continue to hydrate afterward.
Avoid arriving with a very full stomach. A light meal or snack is recommended.
Wear comfortable clothing and remove jewelry before your session.
Arrive a few minutes early to settle in and transition from the busyness of daily life.
Communicate any injuries, health concerns, sensitivities, or preferences so your session can be customized to your needs.
Consider setting a simple intention for your session. Whether you are seeking relief from physical discomfort, stress reduction, emotional support, spiritual connection, or simply deep relaxation, arriving with an intention can help bring greater awareness and presence to your experience. You are welcome to share your intention with me so I may better support your goals, or simply hold it quietly in your own heart—both are equally meaningful.
Physical Aftercare
Following your session, you may experience improved mobility, deeper sleep, decreased tension, or an overall sense of well-being. Temporary soreness, increased thirst, or fatigue—especially after deeper work—can be normal responses.
To support recovery:
Continue to hydrate and prioritize nourishing foods and adequate rest.
Engage in gentle movement such as walking, stretching, or a restorative yoga practice to encourage circulation and maintain mobility.
A warm Epsom salt bath can be a wonderful way to further relax muscles and support the integration process. (*If cupping therapy was done during your session please wait 48 hours*)
Heat may help soothe general muscle tension, while ice may be beneficial for areas of acute inflammation or irritation.
Avoid strenuous activity immediately following your treatment when possible and allow your body time to absorb the benefits of your session.
Emotional & Energetic Integration
Because the body, mind, and spirit are deeply interconnected, releasing physical tension may sometimes be accompanied by emotional or energetic release. Feelings of peace, joy, gratitude, grief, sadness, or unexpected emotions may arise during your session or in the hours and days that follow. These experiences are a normal part of the healing process, and there is no right or wrong way to experience them.
Know that you are welcome exactly as you are. I will hold space for whatever arises with compassion, presence, and without judgment. Honor your experience with gentleness and curiosity. Journaling, spending time in nature, taking a bath, practicing mindfulness, or simply giving yourself permission to slow down can help support the integration process. Healing often unfolds quietly and continues long after your session has ended.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your healing journey. It is a privilege to hold space for your care.
